APPROACH
My approach is an integration of contemporary psychodynamic psychotherapy with Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, a mindfulness-based, values guided, experiential behavioral approach.
What this means in practice is that I will work collaboratively with you to disclose sources of meaning in your life, while facilitating the development of new perspectives on your internal emotional worlds, in the service of pursuing increasingly clarified values. At times this will include looking at patterns in current and past relationships that may be contributing to “stuck” points, while at others it will include guided experiential exercises aimed at dislodging patterns of behavior that are no longer serving your life, that are blocking you from living a more vital, engaged, meaningful existence.
I have continued my education following receipt of my doctoral degree, including recently completing a two-year certificate program in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy from the New Center for Psychoanalysis in Los Angeles, an affiliate of the American and International Psychoanalytic Associations.
I invite you to get in touch with me to learn more about my approach and to view the resources on this site for deeper insights.
